Android App - A world of photos
After reading a few good reviews about an Android application called “A world of photos”, I went to the Android Market and downloaded it. The basic idea is that you spin your phone, like spin the bottle, and then you ask someone in that direction who also has the app installed to take a photo. I installed the app and started getting requests from all over the globe to take photos. I was fun for about 5 minutes, but then I started getting requests from people with usernames like ShowMeYours and NakedPhotosOK – and I thought to myself, maybe not the sort of service I want get involved with. The biggest problem for me regarding this app were that even though I had turned background data off I would still get requests to take photos, not much fun in the middle of the night. On top of that it is not possible to turn off the warning sound within the application. I could of course turn the sound of my phone, but then what is going to wake me up the morning? So last night at 3 am I uninstalled A world of photos
Camera Zoom Fx
I must have downloaded and installed about 100 apps for controlling the camera on my G1. The installations always ended in disappointment and uninstallation. Then I read about an app called Camera Zoom Fx, several sites gave it great reviews. I decided to take the plunge and pay the £1.25 that the makers wanted for it. Have to say I did the right thing. In the beginning it is a little overwhelming with all the options and add on’s. When I got the hang of it I discovered just what I could get out of the G1 camera. There is also a growing community of users sharing their photos taken using the App. I am a happy customer

FxCamera
I love downloading and trying out new applications on my Android phone. One I have been playing around with lately is FxCamera. In FxCamera you can shoot photos in 5 different modes, Toycam, Polandroid, Fisheye, Symmetri, Warhol and normal. The controls are easy enough to use and the different modes have settings you can configure. I think it is a fun application to play around with plus it is free to download.

WorldTour, background App for Android phones
Recently I installed this App on my G1. What it does is that it changes the background image on the home screen with images from webcams around the world. You can choose from many different locations, everything from the Eiffel Tower, Ground Zero, giraffes in a Zoo, to a laundry room in Japan. It updates every 20 minutes, you can chose what camera you want to watch or let the application randomly pick on. The image quality from a lot of the webcams are surprising good, especially the once from NASA of the sun and earth from space impresses me. I have set the application up to randomly pick webcams. I have to admit that I find myself checking my phone more than usual to see what my home screen looks like. Last time I checked it was showing St Peter in Vatican City. This application is more interesting than I thought it was going to be, highly recommended
