Broadband speed - Day one

Moved in to a new flat a few weeks back, and ofcourse I ordered up some broadband so I can connect to the web. I went with Virgin since their prizes were reasonable and on their website they said I should get an average of 6.5Mbps in my area. Other companies were saying I could get a faster connection, up to 30Mbps. There has been many stories in the media about how wildly optimistic the "up to" speeds are so I thought an average of 6.5 was not too bad. A few days ago a wireless router arrived on my doorstep and today I received an email saying that the broadband was ready and I could connect. So that's what I did... I am not getting anywhere near the average speed I was promised. I did a test using The gadget Show's broadband speed test and the result was rather shocking:

0.2 Mbps download and 0.08 Mbps upload speed...

Not happy what so ever! It does say in an email I got from Virgin that speed can fluctuate the 10 first days, and that this is them making sure I am getting the best speed possible. So I am hoping for a big fluctuation upwards pronto!!
